Breastfeeding Across the Bay 2018

We had over 18 sites participate in our Breastfeeding Across the Bay events!

Big Latch On 2017

More than 200 attendees joined the Tampa Bay celebration of World Breastfeeding Week on August 5th at the USF College of Public Health!

We were thrilled to have 96 simultaneous latches for the 10:30-10:31 am Big Latch On this year!

Moms, dads, kids, and families enjoyed visiting community resource and small business vendor tables, our raffle, taking family photos, participating in a breast milk research study, spending time with friends, playing and having faces painted, and participating in the Global Big Latch On.

Thank You to all our local vendors and small businesses who made the event a success, especially to our Platinum, Gold, and Silver Sponsors:
Tampa General Hospital, the Florida Department of Health Hillsborough, Green Mommy Store, Active Care Chiropractic, Brown Baby Brigade, Essence of Life Spinal Care, and Community Roots Collective!

World Breastfeeding Week and BIG LATCH ON 2016

The Tampa Bay Breastfeeding Task Force members were thrilled to experience the turn out Saturday, August 6th at the Big Latch On and World Breastfeeding Week Celebration!

More than 20 organizations showcased their resources for families at the event held at the Family Life Center of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

While many babies and toddlers breastfed freely throughout the event, a total of 60 little ones latched on for the world record attempt from 10:30 – 10:31 AM.

While smaller than previous events, families and community members greatly enjoyed the atmosphere of the event.

Families enjoyed visiting with vendors, a face painter, and breastfeeding awareness cupcakes!

We want to again thank our sponsors, partners, vendors, volunteers, and participants for contributing to this incredible event!

World Breastfeeding Week Celebration and BIG LATCH ON 2015

The Hillsborough County Breastfeeding Task Force members are still in awe at the turn out Saturday, August 1st at the Big Latch On and World Breastfeeding Week Celebration!

Over 200 families attended the event held from 9 am to noon at the USF College of Public Health.  More than 20 organizations showcased their resources for families.  While many babies and toddlers breastfed freely throughout the event, a total of 113 babies stayed latched on for the world record attempt from 10:30 – 10:31 AM.  This surpassed the Hillsborough County Breastfeeding Task Force’s previous Big Latch On record of 74 latched pairs!

Families enjoyed visiting with vendors, a toddler zone hosted by Fit4Mom, a story time from Usborne Books, a face painter, and celebratory cake!  The Florida Breastfeeding Coalition honored Tampa General Hospital with the Five Star Maternity Award for recently earning their Baby Friendly Status.  A baby carrier raffle earned over $350 towards the purchase of a freezer to be used as a depot for the Milk Bank of Florida local donors.

We want to again thank our sponsors, partners, vendors, volunteers and participants for contributing to this incredible event!
